The People’s Party calls on the SPÖ to stop its „dirty campaigning“ against ÖVP boss Sebastian Kurz on the occasion of the

National Council election

to end. The occasion is a report by „profil“, according to which the

former SPÖ adviser Tal Silberstein

Had commissioned negative videos against the Foreign Minister.

Secretary General Elisabeth Köstinger now thinks that the SPÖ is called upon to immediately stop the methods of their „election campaign guru“. The agency that produced the videos is the SPÖ’s election campaign agency. Therefore, she does not understand what the SPÖ mean when she said that she had not commissioned the videos directly: „And the fact that these are only for internal use is also implausible, especially since some of them have already been published,“ said Köstinger.

SPÖ complains of „data theft“

According to „profil“, the SPÖ had anti-Sebastian short videos produced. The Social Democrats are now locating „data theft“ and want to check all legal means against it. In addition, they had „not commissioned“ the videos „directly“.

As „profil“ documents showed, the Viennese advertising agency GGK MullenLowe designed videos on behalf of the SPÖ that were directed against ÖVP chairman Sebastian Kurz, reports the magazine. One of them was initially distributed on the page politiknews.at, which was initially supported by the SPÖ, but has since been closed, and is now available on the right-wing Facebook page „The Truth About Sebastian Kurz“.

The head of GGK MullenLowe, Michael Kapfer, confirmed the production of the videos to „profil“. According to Kapfer, these were only created for internal use in focus groups in coordination with SPÖ advisor Tal Silberstein. You are not responsible for the publication of a video.

Niedermühlbichler: Videos „not directly“ commissioned

SPÖ Federal Managing Director Georg Niedermühlbichler assured in a broadcast that the videos were „not directly“ commissioned by the SPÖ. Silberstein, meanwhile fired by the SPÖ after his interim arrest in Israel, is said to have designed a wide variety of concepts in order to test them in focus groups. The fact that correspondence between the agency and the SPÖ campaign has now surfaced among journalists is clear evidence that attempts are made again and again to find out details of the SPÖ campaign in all ways: „Hacking and misusing internal data is but not a trivial offense, but a crime. „

The SPÖ federal manager emphasized again that the SPÖ had terminated the business relationship with Silberstein: „And we have also made a clear decision to look for a clean election campaign with a tough but fair confrontation.“

FPÖ sees „embarrassing smear theater“ from SPÖ and ÖVP

The SPÖ once again emphasized on Saturday that, contrary to the recent allegations of the ÖVP, it did not stand for dirty campaigning. So the People’s Party digs up concepts of the former SP advisor Tal Silberstein from June as supposed evidence. The SPÖ ended its cooperation with him (after his temporary arrest, note) in mid-August.

An „embarrassing smear theater“ by SPÖ and ÖVP recognizes FPÖ general secretary Herbert Kickl and puts „SPÖ hate videos“ and „frontal cuddles“ between the ministers Sebastian Kurz (ÖVP) and Hans Peter Doskozil (SPÖ) side by side. Kickl is convinced that a new edition of Schwarz-Rot is imminent.

Red is once again the dirtiest organization when it comes to elections. But we already know that from the last elections and from your party leader (Häupl)

The match for the

Successor to Mayor Michael Häupl

as Viennese SPÖ boss and as a result also as mayor is called: Andreas Schieder against Michael Ludwig. The winner will be whoever can get the majority of the 981 voting delegates to his side at the extraordinary state party conference on January 27th. The districts are of great relevance.

The red district organizations provide a fixed 600 delegates, a little less than two thirds, it said from the state party on Friday at the APA request. The following applies: The number of delegate votes depends on the number of members of the district party – the more members, the more eligible voters.

Breakdown is not revealed

However, the party will still not reveal the exact breakdown. However, it is undisputed that large districts such as Floridsdorf, Simmering or the Donaustadt naturally have more voters than small districts within the belt. The fact that the area districts together support the current housing councilor, Floridsdorfer Ludwig, and the inner-belt districts support the executive SPÖ club boss in the federal government, the Penzinger Schieder, should not be a permissible conclusion.

The party reveals that the group of delegates currently has 981 members. In addition to the 600 district delegates, there are 157 delegates from the Vienna Committee. This is the largest body of the state party, in which the party leadership, local councils and district heads are represented as well as red members of the federal government.

There are also 204 representatives from around 30 red organizations, 120 of which are from the union. The latter will probably not vote 100 percent in a closed manner – although the recent statement by FSG boss Christian Meidlinger to elect Ludwig should provide a clear thrust. The rest is accounted for by preparatory and sub-organizations such as the socialist youth, the children’s friends, the tenants ‚association, the business association or the Red Biker and the workers‘ choir. Each of them has one to six voters.

The remainder of the total of 981 is provided by the Vienna Examination Committee (18) and the Vienna Women’s Committee (2).

Who should succeed Michael Häupl as SPÖ leader in Vienna?

  • Michael Ludwig
  • Andreas Schieder

The TV election campaign on Puls4 started with FPÖ top candidate Strache against

NEOS boss Strolz

.

The television election campaign for the National Council election entered the hot phase on Monday evening with the first direct politician duels on pulse 4. FPÖ top candidate Heinz-Christian Strache and NEOS boss Matthias Strolz started. Immediately afterwards, Strache met the Green top candidate

Ulrike Lunacek

.

In the pulse 4 confrontations, according to one of the broadcaster’s rules, the top candidates must give the respective counterpart a gift at the beginning. Strolz, unusually in a suit and tie, presented Strache with a European pennant. You can be an Austrian patriot and have Europe in your heart, that’s Strolz’s message. Strache gave Strolz a bonsai tree – because Strolz is close to nature, so Strache. „Please don’t hug him too tightly.“

Strache is „fire alarm“ and „pyromaniac“

Then the opposition politicians fought for the first time. Strolz spoke of „two fundamentally different concepts for the orientation of Austria“. The FPÖ stands for isolation, national constriction and an authoritarian understanding of the state, while the NEOS contrasted this with an open Austria of opportunities and hopes. Behind the NEOS there are millionaires and oligarchs like the building contractor Hans Peter Haselsteiner, countered Strache. Immediately afterwards, Strolz pulled out a picture of a plate showing Strache at a meeting with Russian oligarchs. „If you start like this, I’ll have to put up a stop sign.“

On the contrary, along well-known positions, the debate on refugees, migration and integration ran. Strolz was „fire alarm“ and „pyromaniac“ at the same time, criticized Strolz. The FPÖ boss once again called for the „economic immigration“ to be stopped. Strolz and Strache were also far apart in European politics.

Strolz: „You are of course also a certain security risk for Austria!“

Interfaces were found in economic issues such as tax cuts, the protection of cash, the no to inheritance tax or the abolition of compulsory membership in the Chamber of Labor and Commerce. Strolz noted that there were „many overlapping objectives“. „We mean it honestly,“ added Strache in the direction of the absent government parties.

The FPÖ boss used his statements again and again to criticize the absent competitors from the SPÖ and ÖVP. „People don’t want a continuation of red and black or black and red.“ That’s why strong freedom is needed, said Strache.

After 45 minutes it was over again. The end of every pulse 4 duel: the current book tip. Strache recommended Strolz „Völkerwanderung“ by the former Czech President Vaclav Klaus, Strolz immediately praised his own book „My new Austria“. 19 more duels on pulse 4 and on ORF follow.

Defense Minister Hans Peter Doskozil and Burgenland Governor Hans Niessl presented the scenario of a possible black-blue coalition after the in Eisenstadt on Monday

National Council election

drawn. Doskozil said the SPÖ had to „do everything in its power to prevent the move into the opposition.“ Both politicians kept a low profile on coalition variants.

At the press conference after the SPÖ state party executive, Niessl was once again convinced that – „if social democracy does not come first“ – there will be „very likely“ black and blue. From 2000 to 2006 there was a „closure program for rural areas“ with this constellation, which should not be repeated.

ÖVP top candidates without „relevant statements“

He accused the ÖVP top candidates at federal and state level of running in an election without making „relevant statements“ on issues. From the political competitor only „answer zero“ came to important issues such as security, jobs or migration, the governor stated.

Doskozil locates the FPÖ and ÖVP in addition to the „almost coordinated economic program“ and similarities in the rejection of the comprehensive school, in relation to the Chamber of Labor and when it comes to economic liberalism. Social democracy, on the other hand, stands for „barriers to privatization“, for comprehensive schools for ten to 14 year olds and for a „clearly structured“ minimum income. After October 15, they want to have „a discussion of justice and not a discussion of envy“.

No stipulation regarding coalitions

As far as future coalitions are concerned, neither Niessl nor Doskozil wanted to commit. Discussing this before the election would be „a sign of pride and arrogance“. The voter is always right, based on the election result, „there may or may not be coalition negotiations,“ said Doskozil. To a certain extent, the black-blue coalition variant is emerging. „Then the Social Democrats would be in opposition and we have to prevent that by all means.“

The main goal of the SPÖ Burgenland in the National Council election was to become number one in Burgenland „and thus to contribute to the fact that the Federal Chancellor is still Christian Kern,“ said Niessl.

Local elections in Burgenland

Even before that, on October 1st, local elections will take place in Burgenland: this is where most of the mayors and most of the municipal councilors will be appointed. The local council election campaign is already in the „hot phase“, said country manager Christian Dax. They want to visit all 120,000 households in Burgenland by October 1st.

All confrontations on ORF with SPÖ participation are moderated by Claudia Reiterer. Previously there was criticism regarding the close relationship between Chancellor Kern and

Tarek Leitner

.

After the vacation swirl around their families, the Federal Chancellor and SPÖ boss

Christian Kern

and ORF presenter Tarek Leitner do not meet in any ORF duel for the National Council election. This emerges from the planning of the ten TV confrontations communicated by ORF: Those with SPÖ participation are moderated by Claudia Reiterer. The ORF refers to Leitner’s involvement in „Zeit im Bild 1“.

Leitner will lead the confrontations between FPÖ-Greens, FPÖ-NEOS, ÖVP-NEOS, Greens-NEOS and ÖVP-FPÖ.
